According to Wikipedia, “Inbound marketing is advertising a company through blogs, podcasts, video, eBooks, enewsletters, whitepapers, SEO, social media marketing, and other forms of content marketing, which serve to bring customers in closer to the brand, where they want to be.” By creating items of value on your website, inbound marketing companies attract visitors to your website. This allows you to bring people in, opposed to having to push a message out. TV, radio and magazines are generally thought of as outbound marketing mediums. While in most cases, content marketing, SEO and social media have more of an inbound marketing element.

How is it Different than Just Content Marketing?

Content marketing is really an extension of inbound marketing. In order to attract people to your content, you need to first create the inbound element and then promote it. If that piece of content, whether it be a video, photo or blog post, is quality, it will attract more people.
